Information Sharing Under Section 314(b)

Section 314(b) of the USA PATRIOT Act provides a safe harbor from liability for financial institutions and associations of financial institutions that share information with one another for purposes of identifying and, where appropriate, reporting activities that may involve possible terrorist activity or money laundering, which may include information about fraud and other specified unlawful activities. Financial institutions and associations of financial institutions interested in participating in the section 314(b) program should follow the registration instructions included in the Section 314(b) Fact Sheet (below).
